DeeDee Jones selected to serve as MACAA’s Director of Early Childhood Services

Lisa “DeeDee” Jones began her tenure as MACAA’s Director of Early Childhood Services on Monday, July 18, 2022. DeeDee (she/her) will lead our Early Childhood Education and Development Impact Area. She brings 33 years of experience as an educator and leader, most recently concluding her tenure with Albemarle County Public Schools as the Assistant Principal of Albemarle High School. DeeDee holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Virginia with endorsements in Administration and Supervision (Pre-K to Grade 12), Early Education (Pre-K to Grade 4), Middle Education (Grades 4-8), and Gifted Education. DeeDee previously served as Principal of the Center for Learning and Growth (2019-2020), Cale Elementary School (2007-2019), Scottsville Elementary School (2002-2007), and Orange Elementary School (1998-2002).   

 DeeDee is a visionary leader with expertise in leading bilingual programming and successful family/community partnerships, and she brings extensive experience and best practices, as well as innovation and data-driven decision making, to our early childhood programs. DeeDee has been recognized for her exceptional leadership, most recently receiving Albemarle County Public Schools Equity and Diversity Educator of the Year award in 2018. 

 DeeDee will lead our Early Head Start and Head Start programs and other services to meet the needs of vulnerable children ages birth to five.
