Fluvanna Food Pantry
Feeding Fluvanna, One Family at a Time
Our pantry
MACAA’s food pantry has transitioned to better serve Fluvanna residents. Beginning Monday, June 10, 2024, guests will be able to shop for a five-day supply of emergency food items twice per month, making selections that best meet their dietary needs and preferences.
What to expect
At our pantry, we follow a guest choice model, which means you can select the items that best suit your needs and preferences. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by staff and volunteers who are ready to assist you. You'll have the opportunity to browse through a variety of fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods, and other essentials. Our goal is to provide you with a dignified and personalized shopping experience, ensuring you take home the foods that you and your family enjoy and need. We believe in empowering you to make choices that best fit your lifestyle and dietary requirements.
There is no cost to receive food from the pantry. Guests must complete an information form annually; links are provided below and paper copies are available onsite. An ID or proof of address is not required.

Frequently asked questions
Will I still receive a large box of non-perishable foods?
Guests may request prepared food boxes in lieu of selecting their own food items for a limited time as the community becomes more aware of how our new food pantry model will operate.
Can I send someone to pick up my food for me?
Yes, you can send a friend or neighbor to shop for you. They must bring a signed notice from you authorizing their pickup on your behalf. We may call and verify your approval.
How often can I visit the food pantry?
In our new model, guests will be able to visit the pantry twice per month. This ensures fresh produce is available for families throughout the month and less food is wasted. Each visit is intended to provide a household with five days of emergency food resources.
What kind of food will I receive?
You will be able to shop for fresh produce, diary, meats, and non-perishable foods that meet your family’s dietary and cultural needs. The amount of each type of food varies based on your household size and pantry inventory.
Will I need an ID or proof of address?
No. If it’s your visit visit, you will be asked to complete a client intake form, however you will not be asked to provide any documentation.
